THE BRAND

The Big Dogs brand continues to be strong. Known for Quality, Value and Fun, the All-American family-oriented brand enjoys popularity throughout the country.

Key to the success of the brand is Big Dogs' reputation for producing high-quality graphics. Sales of Big Dogs graphic t-shirts, the company’s best selling product line, continue to grow each year. Graphics are the driving force behind the brand strength of the company. Big Dog graphics are leveraged into other product lines, including loungewear, boxer shorts and rayon shirts. These product categories that feature Big Dog graphics also continue to grow each year, an indication that Big Dogs' wide appeal and core brand strength remain strong. The Big Dogs brand is designed to appeal to men, women and children of all ages, particularly baby boomers and their kids. This core demographic is one of the fastest growing segments of the population. Big Dogs has a loyal and growing customer base in the plus sized market. This category is also one of the fastest growing demographics in the country and represents 26% of sales. Sales of Big Dogs children’s merchandise represents 14% of our business.

DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS

Retail stores generate the vast majority of revenue for Big Dogs. Currently there are 167 stores across the United States that are owned and operated by Big Dogs. Each store is designed to enhance the Big Dogs brand by using creative themes in décor and displays, and floor plans that maximize sales by making shopping both straightforward and fun for customers. All of our stores emphasize the Quality, Value, Fun aspects of our brand, differentiating Big Dogs’ stores from all other mall tenants and making a memorable shopping experience for our customers. In addition to our stores, Big Dogs also sells through mail order and internet channels that have proven to be successful sales and brand-building tool for the company. Our multi-channel approach to retailing provides a variety of opportunities for customers everywhere to buy Big Dogs products.


THE WALKING COMPANY

In early 2004, Big Dog Holdings, Inc. acquired The Walking Company, the premier retailer of authentic comfort footwear.  Today, we operate over 135 specialty stores in premium malls across the nation.  The Walking Company sells a unique mix of high-quality, technically designed walkwear & accessories from around the world to both men and women. These products have particular appeal to one of the largest and most rapidly growing demographics in the nation. The market growth potential, unique retail store concept and numerous possibilities for marketing and branding offer exciting growth opportunities.

Finally, with people living longer and becoming more educated about health & fitness, The Walking Company is poised to take advantage of the aging population demographics. People over 50 represent the fastest growing segment of the population in the US, and the number is expected to grow by another 21 million by the year 2010.
